Alfred Box of Books Library receives second national grant to enhance digital access

The Alfred Box of Books library has received a new grant from the American Library Association (ALA), the second in two years, to expand its digital services.

The award, one of 30 nationwide, will provide five Wi-Fi hotspots, including a service contract, along with five HP laptops, for lending to patrons, a $2,000 programming stipend, and travel and accommodation expenses for attendance at a one-day orientation workshop for library project directors at ALA’s annual conference.

Last year, the library was one of 20 nationally to be selected to receive the same number of Wi-Fi hotspots, along with a $2,000 stipend to support implementing financial capability programs, curated book lists and more as part of the ALA’s Community Connect: Digital Access at Home initiative.
