Alfred Farmers Market opens Sunday with a season of music, festivals, farm products and more

After Jack, a folk group from the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains will help open the Alfred Farmers Market Sunday, kicking off a four-month schedule of weekly music and access to a variety of growers and makers products, to be supplemented by two festivals.

The venue, located at the Bandstand at Main Street and Saxon Drive, will be open from 11AM to 3PM each Sunday through October 15, with a rotating schedule of musicians and other family activities to enhance the market experience.

Cornell Cooperative Extension – Allegany County Master Gardeners will be available Sunday to answer questions and share information, with an Activities Tent available for children to make a craft.

On August 27, a Soulful Market will bring Motown and The James Brown Experience to the village, with the Renaissance Faire returning on September 17.
