Authorities note extreme cold weather warnings

Many prevention issues need to be remembered during times of extreme cold, including those contained on the two warning graphics accompanying this story.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that cold wind chills can cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, with medical authorities warning of hypothermia being a medical emergency which occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature.
