Avoid having Memorial Day Weekend meals become feasts for bacteria

As cooking grills heat up for Memorial Day and the summer outdoor meals preparation season, both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are warning against seeking good times while ending up, instead, in hospital emergency rooms.

“Don’t let your outdoor meal become a feast for bacteria,” says the USDA, advising to “pack perishable foods safely with a cold source and wash your hands thoroughly while preparing food.”
