
Belmont now has a business assistance center in its central business district.
The ACCORD Corporation community action agency has re-located its Allegany Business Center from its main offices at 84 Schuyler Street to 32-34 Schuyler Street in the village, with office hours of 8AM to 3:30PM weekdays.
The Center, a local chapter of the New York State Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, provides technical assistance and training opportunities for new, planned or existing businesses in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Steuben and other nearby areas.
Free counseling and assistance are available in regard to the feasibility of starting a business, completing Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) certifications to aid in receiving government contracts, product development and marketing, exporting and licensing, identifying and accessing credit and capital, and other business related issues.
It also provides a weekly entrepreneurship course in the spring and the fall to assist new and potential entrepreneurs in how to establish and operate a business.
