Musicians from four Allegany County churches will come together in Wellsville this weekend for an annual Community Worship Service.

Wellsville Bible, Alfred-Almond Bible, and Genesis Bible and Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist of Scio churches will join together to lead attendees in singing at the event sponsored by the Wellsville Area Ministerial Association (WAMA), with endorsement from the Mission Gensee Valley (MGV) coalition of churches, other Christian organizations and individuals.

It will be held at 6PM Sunday, February 19, at Wellsville Bible Church, 2908 Andover Road (State Route 417 East).

The purpose of the activity is to “build unity in the Body of Christ by encouraging Christians from all denominational backgrounds and those not currently involved in a church to worship together,” according to Pastor Dan Kenyon of Wellsville Bible and chair of both WAMA and MGV.

“At the same time,” Kenyon said, “it is totally open to the general public, regardless of their religious persuasion. Unity in the church is an essential requirement for revival which our county and country desperately need.”

A personal testimony also will be provided by an individual who has attended what is being termed as the 2023 Asbury University Revival in Wilmore, Ky., which, Kenyon said, “in many ways is a largely worship event.”

That activity broke out a week ago Wednesday at University Chapel services and has continued for days.

The Wellsville event is free with a free-will offereing being accepted for WAMA’s work.
