Cuba Library to host gardening classes

A six-session series on the benefits of gardening and how to gain knowledge to maximize the upcoming 2024 growing season will start next week at the Cuba Circulating Library.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Allegany County Master Gardeners David Chamberlain and Cristian Acosta will present the free classes from 1:30PM to 2:30PM Tuesdays, starting April 9, at the 39 East Main Street facility.

The schedule includes:
— April 9: Seedling Care and No-tilling gardening
— April 16: Permaculture and native plants
— April 30: Medicinal herbs
— May 7: Composting 101
— May 14: Supporting pollinators in the garden
— May 21: Controlling pests in the garden
