Disaster and phone training sessions scheduled next week in Cuba

Two separate free training sessions will be held Thursday and Friday next week at the Cuba Circulating Library to help equip area residents on preparedness when it comes to potential disasters and use of Apple electronic devices.

The first activity, to be held from 6PM to 7PM, March 9, will be a New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps Training by a National Guard instructor at the library facility at 39 East Main Street.

The session will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster, with participants being advised on how to properly prepare for any such event, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies.

The second, to be held from 11AM to 12:30 PM, March 10, will be an online workshop for those who have a new Apple mobile device or are considering obtaining one, and want to learn more about its basic functions.

A library staff member will be available to assist attendees in getting connected, identify common apps, and build confidence to use a device safely.

Further information and required registration for either event is available at cuba@stls.org or (585) 968-1668.
