Early voting is underway at locations in Belmont and Wellsville for this year’s general election for local government offices, with six positions in various part of the county to be determined by write-ins.
Registered voters can cast ballots from today through Sunday at the Allegany County Board of Elections at 8 Willets Avenue (State Route 19) in Belmont and at Wellsville Village Offices at 23 North Main Street, with hours for each shown on the graphic accompanying this story.
Extended hours for in person absentee voting also is available until 7PM today and Thursday at the Belmont location only for those who intend to be out of the county on Election Day and for early voting hours.
Write-in votes will determine winners of two Town Council positions in Alma and one each in Bolivar, Friendship and Genesee, along with a Town Justice position in West Almond, all due to no candidate filings for those positions.
Local polling places will be open from 6AM to 9PM next Tuesday, November 7, for the General Election.
