

Senior citizens and caregivers can learn about various aspects of elder abuse and its prevention, from physical to financial, Friday during an Elder Abuse Prevention Conference at the Genesee Valley Central School at Belmont.
Sessions, hosted by the Allegany County Office for the Aging and the Finger Lakes VA Health Care Systems, will be held from 9:30AM to 2PM, including lunch, at the school at 1 Jaguar Drive, north of the village.
Attendees will be able to choose four sessions from multiple 45-minute topics, including financial scams, medication safety and misuse, intimate partner violence safety, warning signs of Alzheimer’s and advanced health planning.
Also, suicide prevention, aging in place, whole health, and financial exploitation.
Services providers also will be available from 9:30AM to 1:30PM.
