Early voting, for both a Republican Primary and a Special Election for all voters to fill a vacancy for a member of Congress from the 23rd District of the Southern Tier, which includes Allegany County, will be held over a nine-day period at the Wellsville Village Offices, 23 North Main Street, on the schedule shown in the graphic. Early voting also will be occurring at the Allegany County Board of Elections, 8 Willets Avenue (State Route 19 North), in Belmont on the same days, but with evening hours on two of the days.
The Primary was delayed due to a redistricting court fight, with the Special Election for all voters, for the position through the end of the year due to the resignation of Congressman Tom Reed. Regular voting will occur from 6AM to 9PM on Tuesday, August 23, at local polling places throughout the county.
The General Election for several state officials, along with a full-term for the Congressional seat will occur Tuesday, November 8.
