A five-day Town of Independence Bicentennial Celebration will be held Wednesday through Friday evenings, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning and noontime from Wednesday-Sunday, August 10-14, at Whitesville.

Many historical and family activities will be held, including Saturday’s Car and Tractor Show at 10AM; bounce houses, a dunk tank, corn hole tournament, pony rides, foul shooting contest at 1PM; town tours and a scavenger hunt at 2PM; a 6PM parade to include Shriner carts and the Buffalo Bills Drumline; music at the Whitesville Fire Department from 7PM to 10PM, followed by fireworks. Various vendors also will be available during the day.

A photo opportunity will be available throughout the multi-day event at the Sesquicentennial Jail, a former lockup currently being restored, located between the library and the fire department.
