Several area sites are available Sunday for Allegany County, NY, area residents to participate in the state-wide First Day Hikes of 2023.
New Year excursions will occur throughout the day at various area locations, including Phillips Creek State Forest at West Almond, Cuba, Hinsdale and six hikes in various parts of Letchworth State Park.
The events are free, with refreshments provided at some locations, and pre-registrations required at some sites.
The family-friendly activities are from one to five miles long, depending on the location.
