A free child car seat safety check will be provided Saturday at the Wellsville campus of Alfred State College as part of national Child Passenger Safety Week.
Ardent Solutions, Inc., Safe Kids Southern Tier New York, and the NYS University Police at Alfred State College will provide car seat information from 10AM to 2PM September 24 at the 2530 River Road location, with a certified car seat technician performing safety checks.
Authorities report that over half of all child car seats are installed improperly, with correct installation being able to reduce the risk of death by more than 70 percent.
