Free outdoor movie readying for showing tonight

A mobile outdoor movie setup is ready for tonight’s free showing of the War Room film at Island Park in Friendship, hosted by the What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of churches.

Friday night’s free public outdoor movie setup at the Rushford Fire Department will be repeated tonight at Island Park in Friendship.

The presentation will start at dusk at the 27 West Water Street (County Road 31) location, the second appearance in Allegany County this weekend following the movie, Courageous, being screened Friday night at Rushford, hosted by the Caneadea Hills Community Church of Fillmore.

Nationally-acclaimed films by the Kendrick Brothers and others are being shown by David and Dana Morrison with Drive-In Ministries of Prattville, AL.

The missionary couple provide one of three mobile units being used in the United States, along with those in seven other countries, which bring wholesome Christian films to various areas of outreach.

Tonight’s film highlights how a wife learns to use prayer and faith from an older prayed up women to put her family back together.

The appearance coincides with a new community-wide initiative announced by the local churches alliance last weekend for individuals throughout Friendship and beyond to pray for their neighbors on a regular basis.

The Bless Every Home outreach will provide participating congregants from the Bible Baptist Church Friendship NY 14739, Followers of the Way – Nile Community Church, and the United Church of Friendship, NY, along with any other participating prayers, with randomly selected households in their neighborhoods for inobtrusive rotating prayer.

Pastors say that consistent prayer can be a catalyst for community transformation and revival throughout neighborhoods and beyond as individuals and families develop a greater awareness and positive response to the needs of others.

Orientation sessions for the new initiative will be scheduled over the next few weeks at participating churches, with all individuals interested in praying for the neighbors being invited to attend to learn more.

Persons who aren’t members of the three churches can contact Allegany Hope, churches alliance facilitator, at AlleganyHopeWNY@outlook.com or (585) 664-9989 for notifications in regard to the orientation sessions, or for information about tonight’s film.
