Free television recycling is Saturday

Allegany County residents can recycle their old televisions without cost from 8AM to 3:30PM, Saturday, July 6, at the Caneadea Recycling Center at 9425 Molyneaux Road, with a limit of two units per household.

Televisions “contain many hazardous materials which can harm the environment if not disposed of properly,” according to the County Department of Public Works, which operates the initiative. “By recycling your TV, you can help to protect the environment and keep our community clean.”

Further information is available from Tim Palmiter, recycling coordinator at (585) 268-7282 or Timothy.Palmiter@alleganyco.gov.
