Gallery exhibit and wind ensemble debut Friday at Houghton University

Lithographs of the Holy Land and Egypt by mid-19th Century Scottish painter David Roberts will be the subject of a new exhibit, The Holy Land and Egypt, which is opening next Friday night at the Ortlip Gallery in the Center for the Arts at Houghton University.

The works first will be shown during a free opening reception from 6:30PM to 8PM, October 28, at the 1 Willard Avenue location, which will include refreshments and a Gallery Talk at 7PM.

The pieces also will be on display from 9AM to 6PM Mondays through Saturdays until Thursday, December 15.

From 7:30PM to 8:30PM, visitors also will be able to see the Houghton Wind Ensemble from the university’s Greatbatch School of Music which will be performing its first concert of the school year in the Wesley Chapel, featuring a wide variety of musical selections.
