Heat Advisory in effect for Allegany County for Tuesday through Thursday, Monday to the north

WEATHER UPDATE: A Heat Advisory now is in effect for Tuesday noon through 8PM Thursday for Allegany County east and west due to heat indexes in the 100-degree range, combined with oppressive humidity.

The alert, however, starts at noon tomorrow for Livingston County north, and currently is in effect for only noon to 8PM Tuesday for neighboring Potter and McKean counties in Pennsylvania, although the National Weather Service (NWS) at State College says “the heat wave is expected to continue into the weekend with the hottest temperatures of the summer so far,” with its longevity during the month of June not have been experienced in decades.
