
Applications now are being accepted for fall and winter heating equipment repair and replacement for eligible recipients under the New York State Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), with enrollment for additional benefits, including financial aid for heat, forthcoming.
Benefit amounts are based on the actual cost incurred to repair or replace a furnace, boiler, and/or other essential heating equipment, with up to $4,000 provided for a repair and $8,000 for a replacement.
Applications for regular HEAP heating fuel benefits will be accepted starting Tuesday, November 1, with additional emergency assistance beginning January 3 of next year.
