Heavy rain, gusty winds and flash flooding possible tonight in Allegany and surrounding counties

The National Weather Service (NWS) at Buffalo is alerting to the Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms, including gusty winds, from early evening into Friday morning, including a higher level Slight Risk potential for excessive rain and flash flooding.

The line of storm clusters, from the northwest, are expected to be strongest from a couple hours before to just after midnight in Allegany County, according to forecasters, with the threat lessening as one moves north and east, as shown on the map accompanying this story.

Be Aware. Be Prepared. Stay Safe.TM and monitor for any updates. Turn Around Don’t Drown, with an individual able to be knocked off their feet with as little as six inches of flowing water, and a small car moved at only a depth of one foot.
