The speaker for a three-day revival, worship and spiritual renewal series next month at Houghton University believes the country is “on the precipice of something we’ve never seen before – a generation emerging committed to prayer, seeking God’s presence and longing for revival.”
Rev. Santes Beatty, director of the Next Gen Church Multiplication and Discipleship team at The Wesleyan Church, will address four free, public Rooted gatherings from Sunday, September 10, through Tuesday, September 13, in the John and Charles Wesley Chapel on the Houghton Campus at 1 Willard Avenue.
Different sessions will be held all three evenings, with a Monday Chapel service also occurring from 11:10AM to 11:50AM. Evening gatherings will be from 6PM to 7:30PM Sunday and be from 7PM to 8PM Monday and Tuesday.
Beatty, who has some 25 years of ministry and leadership experience in Next Gen spaces, has been ordained as both a Wesleyan and Baptist minister.
He has been a high school pastor in Michigan, a children, youth and young adult pastor, and bi-vocational college administrator in North Carolina, and serves nationally as the director of Regional Conferences and Curriculum for Mosaix Global Network.
Beatty also has been lead pastor of Mosaic Midtown Church in Detroit and director of multiethnic ministries for The Wesleyan Church. He is an executive coaching consultant and speaker for Second Chair Solutions.
The Wesleyan team director says his passion is “seeing revival come through a commitment to prayer and fasting; first in families and then in local churches that will spark a global movement.”
This comes from a combination of his sense of calling and his own personal experience, he says. “They have shaped my purpose in life and that is not only to help point as many young people to Christ as possible, but to help them pursue a growing relationship with God every day.”
Individuals attending the Rooted sessions are able to take advantage of multi-station lunch and dinner menus in the Campus Center dining hall, with further information about rates, times and meal varieties being available, starting Monday, at https://bit.ly/3eXXhr4.
