A host of family activities, many of them free for the public, are being included in this weekend’s Houghton University Homecoming celebration.
A Collage Concert, featuring a variety of the many different offerings of the University’s Greatbatch School of Music, will be held from 7:30PM to 9PM tonight in the Wesley Chapel at 1 Willard Avenue.
A full range of activities will follow Saturday, with an Equestrian Center open house from 9AM to 10:30AM at its facility at 9823 School Farm Road.
A jumping showcase is scheduled for 9AM, followed by training demonstration at 9:30AM, hayrides at 9:40AM, and a dressage showcase at 10AM.
At the same time, pony rides will be available for all ages, along with a photo booth and baked goods and warm beverages.
An indoor Homecoming Parade for children 10 years and younger will begin at 11:15AM at the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Center at 9897 State Route 19 on the college campus, with participants bringing small and clean tricycles, bikes, wagons and scooters which already are decorated or can be decorated at the site.
A Homecoming Festival also will be held at the facility from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, to include inflatables, games, face painting, balloon animals and more.
From 3PM to 4PM, The Up Guys will provide a juggling and variety show in the Campus Center.
During the day, from 9AM to 6PM, a Concept, Material, Design art show will be open in the Ortlip Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, with a cross country meet starting at 11AM, a women’s soccer match at 1PM and women’s tennis at 4PM.
