Houghton University schedules final concerts and music recitals for academic year

The Houghton University Jazz and Wind Ensembles, along with the Men’s and Women’s Choir and several other concerts and recitals by The Greatbatch School of Music groups and students, are scheduled for free evening performances this week, with more to follow next week as the academic year winds down.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform Tuesday night, April 18, and the Wind Ensemble Saturday, in the Wesley Chapel, with the Choir on Friday night in the Center for the Arts (CFA) Recital Hall. All are scheduled from 6:30PM to 7:30PM at the 1 Willard Avenue location.

The Jazz Ensemble consists of a standard-sized big band with students playing classic jazz styles from the 1920s to the present.

The Wind Ensemble is comprised of some 65 percent music and 35 percent non-music major students, with the Men’s and Women’s Choir performing a variety of repertoire.
