An ad hoc community group is meeting for the first time tomorrow night in Friendship to discuss local government-related taxation and other issues.
The session will be held at 6:30PM Wednesday at the Friendship Bible Baptist Church, 43 West Main Street.
The announcement from the group says the session is to “gather as a community to address and obtain assistance on steps toward negotiating recent property assessments in Allegany County, discuss controversy over Friendship School Taxes, and other relevant issues.”
Allegany Hope Community News Editor Casey Jones, a former local government official and municipal management adviser in several Central and Eastern New York and Southeastern Pennsylvania communities, has been asked to discuss information resources which are available in regard to understanding and contesting assessments, and answer general questions in regard to local government topics which Allegany Hope has reported on.
