Thunderstorms possible today with Marginal Risk for severe weather on Sunday

EARLY ALERT: A MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms exists for Allegany County and most of Western New York tomorrow afternoon and evening.

The current Sunday forecast, from the US National Weather Service Buffalo NY, says that damaging winds and large hail are the main threats, with localized heavy rain possible if thunderstorms “train” — repeated areas of rain, typically associated with thunderstorms, that move over the same region in a relatively short period of time — over the county, similar to what was experienced earlier this week.
