Marginal Risk of severe weather now in forecast for Southwestern New York State

SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE: The forecast has changed for the rest of today for a part of Southwestern New York State, with a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms now in the discussion, as shown on this map from the U.S. Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla.

The US National Weather Service Buffalo NY now is projecting showers and thunderstorms developing again this afternoon, with some of the stronger storms having the “potential to produce frequent lightning, gusty winds and very heavy rainfall this afternoon and evening.”
