Market Sprouts Festival opens Alfred Farmers Market Sunday

Opening day for the Alfred Farmers Market is tomorrow, with a Market Sprouts Festival, featuring farm produce, treats, music, and family activities, kicking off the four-month-long weekly gathering.

The Market is open from 11AM to 3PM Sundays, through October 13, at the bandstand at 3 South Main Street, with Bob and Gena Decker providing a first-day eclectic acoustic mix which draws music from different artists.

The Alfred Box of Books Library also will be co-sponsoring a story walk, face painting, and circus arts for kids.

A musical backdrop is provided each weeks for the farmers market, with a Renaissance Faire also occurring on August 25 and a Fall Harvest Festival on September 29.
