Men now invited to women’s monthly missions luncheons and presentations

Reaching the Amish will be the topic for this week’s Friendship women’s missions group luncheon meeting which, for the first time, will be open to men.

Women in the Just Do It! mission group, birthed by the United Church of Friendship, will meet at 11:30AM at The Carter House Ministry Center, 37 East Main Street, for a monthly business meeting, and then convene for a free luncheon and ministry presentation from noon to 1:30PM, at which all are invited.

The purpose of the group is to hear about mission topics locally and around the world, with the second Wednesday of the month session on March 13 previewing a regional Amish Awareness Conference, which will be held in Friendship Friday night and Saturday, April 19-20.

This week’s gathering will discuss the often misunderstood Amish culture, along with others which are growing in the Friendship and greater Allegany County areas, and how to reach out to them in Christian love. Additional missions information also will be provided.

Further information on the meeting is available at ajmbaird@aol.com or (585) 808-1300, and about the Conference agenda and registration at https://tinyurl.com/Amish-Awareness.
