A public training to help recognize mental health issues involving older adults and how to obtain assistance for them is being offered by the Allegany County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
A full-day Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults session will be held from 9AM to 5PM Thursday, May 18, at the Crossroads Center, 6087 State Route 19 North, Belmont. Lunch will be provided.
The session is appropriate for individuals 18 years of age and older who provide care to an older adult, works with older adults, or wants to support older adults in their community, with the certification designed to provide confidence to have conversations that will allow older adults to live as comfortably as possible.
