WINTER STORM REPORT #2: Allegany Hope Community News is receiving reports of power outages in Allegany County, NY, as windchills now have dropped to zero at the Wellsville Airport, as of 11AM, with wind gusts continuing at 45MPH and steady winds at 26MPH.

The actual temperature was at 18 degrees, versus 39 at 7AM today, with 33-degree windchills. Wind gusts at Buffalo International Airport had reached 67MPH.

A report from National Grid indicates nearly 100 outages south of Whiteville, but we are finding both RGE and NYSEG internet outage and web sites showing “Service Temporarily Unavailable” or on a basis too spotty at this writing to obtain any information.

We also are unable to access current data on the “3-day History” page for the US National Weather Service Buffalo NY, from which we had reported information earlier this morning.
