The unusually warm weather for October is on its way out, with high temperatures dropping some 10 degrees today in Central Allegany County and 10 degrees more in each of the next two days from the near 80-degree weather of the past week.
Rain also is moving in today, helping to relieve the abnormally dry conditions which had been alleviated just prior to the recent warmth and lack of precipitation, with a Marginal Risk of excessive rain, resulting in possible localized flooding, in Steuben County east.
Additional detail, including a link to radar images of moving storms, is available through our exclusive Weather Resources page on this website and at https://bit.ly/3YAlcPI.
Due to Allegany County’s location being in or bordering three NYS forecast offices, Allegany Hope Weather Resources provides forecasts and other information from National Weather Services stations at Buffalo, for Allegany County west, Binghamton for Steuben County east, and State College, Pa., for Potter and McKean counties in Pennsylvania, along with regional and national data.
