Safety alerts and guidance issued for pets and outside workers

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued safety reminders in regard to pets and outside workers as a WIND CHILL ADVISORY remains in effect until 10AM Saturday for Allegany County, accompanied by a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Cattaraugus County west.

Also, be cognizant of the needs of children, the disabled and elderly, along with possible loss of power and cell phone drains. We posted an extensive list of cold weather safeguards, from the State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, yesterday afternoon.

Additional details for specific areas of the county and region, including links to timing, are available on our exclusive Allegany County Weather Resources page at on this website or through the link in the left column of this page.
