Scio to vote on $5.75 million construction project with no anticipated property tax hike

Scio Central School Board of Education will hold at public hearing at 6:30PM tomorrow in the elementary school auditorium in regard to a $5.75 million capital construction project which is projected to have no associated property tax increase.

The Wednesday, October 12, event will be followed by a district vote from noon to 8PM next Tuesday, October 18, in the Rigby Gym Foyer.

The project will include heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades, classroom and other facility renovations, improvements to the transportation facility, athletic field improvements, and playgrounds construction.

The project will be paid for through state aid and and as a result of retired district debt, with construction taking place over the next two summers.
