WEATHER BULLETIN #2: A second SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is in progress over Belfast, Houghton, Caneadea, Angelica, Ossian, Canaseraga, Almond, Birdsall, and Short Tract until 5:45PM, with side effects in parts of Central Allegany County.

At 4:38PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Houghton, moving east at 25MPH.

WEATHER BULLETIN: A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING, with hail damage to vehicles expected, has been issued for Northern Allegany, Northeastern Cattaraugus, southern Wyoming and Southwestern Livingston counties until 4PM.

The National Weather Service (NWS) at Buffalo reports that a severe thunderstorm was located near Arcade at 2:57PM, moving east at 25MPH, with radar indicating 60MPH wind gust and quarter size hail.

Residents of the impacted area, including Houghton and Dansville, Letchworth State Park, Perry, Mount Morris, Conesus, Arcade, Portageville, Yorkshire, and Groveland, can “expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees,” according to forecasters.

They urge individuals to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection.

“Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding,” the NWS reports. “Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.”
