Snow at higher elevations this morning, but temperatures forecast to go above-normal

The National Weather Service (NWS) at Buffalo is featuring on its Facebook page this morning a coating of snow on the grass at first light at the NYS Mesonet site at Grove in northern Allegany County, as those in higher elevations across the Western Southern Tier see similar conditions prior to a warmup later in the week.

Rain is expected to cease, temperatures rise, and mostly sunny skies appear by the weekend, with above-normal temperatures returning, starting next week, as shown on the NWS Climate Prediction Center maps accompanying this story.
