Summer storms, heavy rain potential, kicking off this afternoon through at least Tuesday

BREAKING: Thunderstorms, along with isolated flooding, are possible at times through at least Tuesday, as a slow moving low pressure area moves across the Southern Tier, including Allegany and neighboring counties this afternoon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Prediction Center (WPC) is showing a Marginal Risk for excessive rain today in New York’s Southern Tier and Pennsylvania, moving more easterly Saturday and Sunday afternoon, although there still are potentials for thunderstorms locally, and then returning across the entire region Monday and Tuesday.

Be Aware. Be Prepared. Stay Safe.TM. Be prepared to head inside and away from windows if flashes of lightening are seen in advance of thunder and Turn Around Don’t Drown if flooded roadways are encountered. Check for updates throughout this period.
