Top students of 2023 graduating class named at Genesee Valley Central School

Genesee Valley Central School has announced the designation of Lealah Greene as valedictorian of its 2023 graduating class, with Adison Grusendorf being named salutatorian.

The valedictorian, daughter of David and Jackie Greene, has a cumulative grade point average of 98.32 and plans to attend SUNY Oswego to major in public relations.

She has served as Drama Club and Scholastic Challenge president, and secretary for three years of the Robotics Club and the High School Band. Greene also has also been part of the Crochet Club, LOTE, and Youth and Government.

The valedictorian has participated in the Concert and Jazz Bands since ninth grade, having been selected twice to the All-County High School Jazz Band ensemble and once to the Concert Band ensemble. She also has been involved in multiple Drama Club productions, including Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, and Matilda.

The salutatorian, daughter of Holly and Shawn Grusendorf, has a cumulative grade point average of 97.92 and plans to attend Elmira College to pursue a major in fashion merchandising and a minor in theater, and also play on the college soccer team..

She has served as president of her class, the High School Student Council, Band, and National Honor Society.

Grusendorf also has also been part of the Yearbook Club, prom committee, morning announcements, and Jag Design. Her high school sports career has consisted of indoor and outdoor soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, and track and field.

The salutatorian’s musical involvement includes Concert, Marching, and Jazz Band, along with Drum Ensemble, having been selected for the All-County High School Jazz Band and Concert Band, as well as Area All-State. She also has had lead roles in the productions of Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, and Matilda.
