Whether it was Town of Independence/Whitesville’s Bicentennial Celebration 1821-2021+1 crowned royalty at the Whitesville Volunteer FD, kids and adults eating free ice cream at the next door Whitesville Public Library, individuals in period costumes, residents pouring over photo albums of old-time photos, or more, dozens of individuals and families were enjoying themselves tonight at the opening of the five-day community celebration which runs through Sunday in the hamlet.
On the platform are Bicentennial, plus an extended year due to COVID, Prince Lyle VanEtten and Princess Louella Kear, along with Queen and King Cirra DeLill and Wrigley Smith. Music was by Dick Pensyl.
For a list of other daily activities through Sunday, check out our Allegany Hope Calendar of Community Events on this website.
