Wednesday presentation to focus on how one can become an online missionary

Friendship area women will learn Wednesday how they can become online missionaries.

The United Church of Friendship Just Do It! women’s group will host local missionary Anita Baird Jones at its free monthly luncheon meeting from noon to 1:30PM on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, February 14, at The Carter House Mission Center, 37 East Main Street.

Jones will describe how she became an online missionary with Global Media Outreach (GMO), an organization which uses volunteers to reach nonbelievers worldwide, helping to affirm their commitments to the Lord and then aiding in their discipleship.

The local missionary has been involved with outreach to Latino populations for several decades in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Columbia the island of Cuba, and other countries, including service as a teacher in Puerto Rico and a teacher and an elementary school principal in inner-city Rochester.

The principles learned also can be used to reach and teach nonbelievers and new believers locally, according to session planners.

The meetings are open to all area women.
