Wellsville area churches will commemorate Good Friday tonight in observance of the death of Jesus Christ, head of the Christian church, with many in other parts of Allegany County and worldwide memorializing the day in a variety of ways.
Brookside Wesleyan Church at 3469 Andover Road (State Route 417 East) will host Wellsville Area Ministerial Association (WAMA) churches and the general public for a 6PM service which will include communion.
Individuals can check church Facebook pages and websites in various communities to find various other observances today, ranging from individual services to times of personal prayer and reflection, as Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Christ by Roman soldiers, followed by his burial and resurrection on Easter, also known as Resurrection Sunday.
