Wellsville Hometown Holidays events schedule to include parade, fireworks and performances

The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce has rolled out its Hometown Holidays events schedule, with more being added between now and Christmas.

The day after Thanksgiving at most local stores will start holiday shopping, with Small Business Saturday the following day.

At 5PM Saturday, Santa will be coming to town with a Main Street Parade, followed by a Fantasy of Lights Tree Lighting at the David A. Howe Public Library, 155 North Main Street, and a Hometown Holidays fireworks display at 7:30PM.

Other activities for the calendar are:
— Thursday, December 1: Residential Decorating Contest begins.
— Friday, December 9: 7PM – The Nutcracker Ballet at the auditorium at the David A. Howe Public Library.
— Saturday, December 10: 10AM-2PM – Holiday Farmer’s Market, 1AM to 1PM – Holiday Fest for all ages, and 2PM – a second performance of The Nutcracker, all at the library; and 4:30PM – Santa Sprint on Main Street to Pearl Street.
— Monday, December 12: 7PM – Andover Ecumenical Choir Concert in the library auditorium.
— Wednesday, December 14: 6PM – Author Amanda Woomer presents Creepy Christmas Stories at the library.
— Thursday, December 15: Residential Christmas Decorating judging.
— Saturday, December 17: 10:30AM – Family Matinee, A Muppets Christmas and Letters to Santa, at the library; and 2PM-4PM – Santa Claus Comes to Town with two routes around the village.
