Whitesville has a new daycare, to bus some high schoolers to Andover

Whitesville Central School is the site for a new year-around daycare.

The Hornell Area YMCA has opened the new facility for children, ages 18 months to four years, which will operate from 7AM to 6PM weekdays.

Attendees do not have to be residents of the school district.

All childcare programs are eligible for financial assistance for families in need, with more information and a confidential application at https://tinyurl.com/3r4n38j7.

The school district announced Tuesday that ninth and 10th graders will be bused to Andover Central School in the fall under a tuition agreement. It previously had reported that a lack of available teachers could force the action for all high school students.

The tuition agreement will be reevaluated in the spring, according to school officials.
