Winter Weather Advisory issued for Tuesday into Wednesday as snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to cause icy conditions

BREAKING: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES have been posted for 6AM Tuesday through 6AM Wednesday for Allegany, along with varying times for a wide swath of other counties in the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

A slight chance of light snow between the 11PM and 4AM time frame tonight, followed by a chance of snow and then snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 2PM tomorrow, is forecast by the National Weather Service to greet Central Allegany drivers.

All snow is expected to show again after 2PM, resulting in potential slippery roads during both morning and evening drive times.

Southern and southwestern Allegany County stand to experience the greatest degree of icy conditions, at up to .03 inches of accumulation, increasing to the west. An area south and east of Coudersport, Pa., may see up to a tenth of an inch of ice during the day, with its Advisory from 5AM to 7PM tomorrow.

Snow and sleet before 9PM tomorrow, is then expected to turn to rain and sleet before becoming all rain after 10PM in Central Allegany County.

Air temperatures are expected to continue to rise above freezing and reach near 50 degrees, with rain, on Wednesday, before dropping back to the 40-degree range by Sunday.
