BREAKING: A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been posted for 7AM Sunday to 4AM Monday for Allegany County north, east and south, with a mixture of rain and snow creating wet snow and the potential for isolated power outages.
Storm accumulations currently are predicted for three-to-six inches across higher terrain in the northwest, northeast and eastern parts of the county, along with areas east of Coudersport, Pa., and one-to-three inches in the valleys and lower elevations.
“Plan on snow covered, slippery road conditions along with reduced visibility,” according to the National Weather Service (NWS) at Buffalo. “This will be a very wet, slushy snow which will weight down trees and powerlines and may result in isolated power outages.”
Precipitation is expected to start out as showers and then rain after midnight in Central Allegany County and then transition to rain and snow in early afternoon, followed by all snow later in the day. Patterns in other areas will vary, however, depending on local temperatures.
